BT may offer free football

The changes made by Ofcom to BT’s rules of operation could see the world of pay TV turned on its head, as the telecom giant and operator of BT Vision could be offering its customers free Premier League as part of a bundled deal.

Currently the satellite operator BSkyB has live Premier League football matches in its pocket, but a deal such as this may break the hold that BSkyB has on the pay-TV market.

It has to be supposed that BT could also apply these promotions to include movies and premium TV shows.

For BT these changes mean being able to offer many more deals to its customers, which improves the service and in theory could encourage new customers to sign up to BT.
