AirTies has announced the launch of wireless set-top boxes (STBs) suitable for IPTV, WebTV, DVB-T and Video-On-Demand applications.
The range features hybrid STBs supporting IPTV and Digital Terrestrial Television standards, which will allow OTT service providers to offer free-to-air broadcasts in a single appliance.
The hybrid STBs support both High Definition DVB-T and IP and enable catch-up TV, games, VoD and photo sharing, as well as free-to-air digital TV transmissions for live channels.
Bulent Celebi, AirTies’ CEO said: “We believe that hybrid solutions will have an important place in the evolving market.
“In combining the value propositions of Free-to-Air broadcasters with the interactive advantages of Over-The-Top service providers, we believe that we can open up new market opportunities for many.
“This, combined with the advantages of integrated broadcast and broadband applications and the emergence of home networks capable of sharing resources and content, marks a new landmark in the evolution of the home entertainment industry.”
AirTies also announced that it is teaming up with Endavo Media, an OTT video services platform provider, to showcase over-the-top video delivery through an integrated media management system at the IPTV World Forum in London from March 23-25.
