The Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television (PACT) is a trade body for independent TV producers and recently the organisation has been concerned about the BBC’s plans to cut back on its digital services.
Representatives from PACT have been meeting with officials from the BBC to talk about the twenty five per cent cut back of website content.
Recently, following a review, the BBC has decided to reduce the overall size of bbc.co.uk.
This will be done by cutting back on sites that are not performing very well and by reducing costs, which normally means the wage bill.
According to the PACT CEO John McVay, a cutback of twenty five per cent is a step backwards and the organisation will be lobbying to make sure that the BBC puts quality before cash.
