In business, one of the best ways to stay ahead is to pre-empt any adverse decisions that are heading your way.
For BSkyB it is a decision by Ofcom to force it to cut what it charges rival TV platforms for its premium content that could affect the subscription based satellite TV business in a big way.
However BSkyB has a trick that it is about to play and it is called Picnic.
According to the News Corp-owned Sunday Times, it looks as if the decision by the regulator Ofcom will push Sky TV into a corner, yet Sky TV isn’t a company to give up without a fight and so the Freeview version of Sky TV, Picnic, could be resurrected.
Picnic was effectively put on ice during 2008 and if were to return it would be offered as a service alongside Top Up TV.
