Sony has announced two new additions to the Vaio E-Series laptop range, one with a 14 inch display, and one with some serious screen real-estate at 17 inches.
Both laptops come with Windows Home 7 Premium, 4GB of memory, a 500GB hard drive, and ATI Mobility Radeon powered graphics.
The bigger 17 inch E-Series has 1GB of graphics memory (as opposed to 512MB), and comes with a blu-ray drive for the full HD (1920 x 1080) screen. It also has an Intel Core i5 processor, as opposed to the 14 inch version’s Core i3.
Other extras include wi-fi, a webcam, and something called “quick web access” which is a one-touch button that swiftly fires up a browser without needed to boot the machine. Very clever.
The 14 inch model will be available in a range of bold and bright colours for the trendy minded, although its bigger brother will only give customers a choice of black or white. We’ll have ours black, please. With no sugar.
The projected release date for these notebooks is May, and the 17 inch model will start from £609.
