Virgin Media to show off 200 Mbps

The Ideal Home exhibition has always been a placed for home improvements and what better improvement to technology in the home could there be than a broadband connection running at 200 Mbps?

This is what Virgin Media is demonstrating at the Ideal Home Exhibition at Earls Courts until the 5th April.

These claims are fine for the few locations that are capable of getting these speeds.

However, for most consumers the thought of 200 Mbps is about as distant as receiving an up to 20 Mbps broadband connection.

The main priority will have to be reliability and clearly this service is still in the trial stages, although Virgin Media is looking at a realistic launch time of 2012 for the super fast broadband service.

HAHA.. this is so funny. Who is going to buy 200m bs when Virgin Media fail to provide an adequate 10mbs service. Everyone I know has a 10mbs connection and receive between 2-8mbs with an average speed of around 4. This is ridiculous, Virgin Media only have the number of customers they do due to the cheapish prices they offer. How do they expect to provide 200mbs when they so drastically fail to provide the basic services.
