Protest builds against digital economy bill
by David Allen

With something as important as the Digital Economy Bill, it seems strange that the government is keen to rush the Bill through on Wednesday without any debate or questions being raised.
This is despite over ten thousand people demanding that MPs debate the Bill in order to highlight its good and the bad points.
The Open Rights Group and the website 38 Degrees have got together in order to make more noise over a situation that they see as being wrong.
According to the group, there are fears that the Bill could mean the end of free Wi-Fi services, because the network owners could be held responsible for any illegal activity that occurs on their network.
There will be a protest over the Bill’s reading at the Houses of Parliament, although it would seem that this Bill is going through no matter what happens.
