Saturday was the dawn of a new era in television history with the launch of the new Sky 3D channel and its first broadcast was the Premiere League football match between Man Utd and Chelsea.
The match was shown in over a thousand pubs and clubs around the UK using specially purchased LG 3D ready televisions and of course the fans had to wear those unfashionable looking 3D glasses, but they experienced sport on TV just as if they were there.
This is not just a great business builder for BSkyB but has the potential to help the ailing pub industry offer its customers something different, especially with Sky planning to show a further five games before the end of the season on the 9th May.
