ProVision appoints new Chairman

ProVision Communications, which specialises in consumer HDTV wireless multi-room distribution technologies, has appointed Matthew Trowbridge as chairman.

Mr Trowbridge, who replaces founding director, Professor David Bull in the role, joins ProVision from Renesas Technology Europe.

He said, “ProVision has created a world beating technology that can reliably and robustly stream multiple HDTV signals throughout an entire home using WiFi. Many in our industry thought this was not possible.

“I look forward to making use of my experience in the company’s key markets to drive ProVision’s continued success as the company transitions from a technology developer to a revenue generating licensing company.”

ProVision demonstrated its technology at the CES in January.

Its AXAR1500 system streams HD video content from a Blu-ray player, PVR or HD set top box, allowing it to be viewed on TVs, PCs, laptops and mobile phones throughout the home.

The technology will be integrated into set-top-boxes and TVs.
