France Télévisions halts bid talks with Lov-Publicis

Website: Rapid TV News

France Télévisions’ directory board has this week suspended negotiations with consortium Lov-Publicis over the acquisition of 70% of the public service broadcaster’s advertising subsidiary.

French public group has explained its decision by the fact that the full 2011 ad-ban, initially settled by law, on public networks is still too uncertain at the moment to go on talking.

During the week before Mip TV, several deputies pleaded for advertising to be maintained in daytime on public channels. The debate is still roaring up right now.
