The broadband, phone and digital TV provider, BT, is looking to enter the computer market and take on Apple’s iPad directly.
The device was demonstrated at the BT Annual Strategy Day London, where it appeared to have a screen larger than that found on the iPhone, but at the same time smaller than that found on the iPad.
The device will be used for making and receiving phone calls via a Bluetooth headset or speaker, sending SMS, checking email and browsing the internet.
According to the boss of BT, Ian Livingston, the device will be combination of a modern phone and a mini PC, although he is keen to point out that while others are saying that this is an iPad killer, these claims are not being made by BT.
