BBC to launch comedy site

The rise in popularity of comedy on the BBC prompted the corporation to launch a mini website in beta at the beginning of the month, with a wide range of comedy content.

The site allows the user to search the BBC for past and present content.

It currently offers around six hundred clips from classic shows as well as the more exclusive clips from popular current series such as Outnumbered.

As the site moves out of beta into full, the BBC will be streaming new content such as a new fantasy horror series Beasthunters, starring James Corden, Jaime Winstone and Robert Llewellyn.

The BBC has also built links to the BBC iPlayer, YouTube and Twitter into the site, where visitors will be able to find new content.
