Following the announcement last month by BT that it would be setting up its own OnLive service, further details are emerging regarding the cloud based gaming system.
According to a BT spokesperson, the company will be releasing more precise details by the end of this year and it expects to have the system up and running by the end of 2011, which is earlier than first announced.
The OnLive service is a console based games system with difference, which is that most of the processing power comes from the cloud and is sent direct to the computer as a real time video stream.
The problem is that OnLive will require a 5 Mbps broadband connection for the HD service and while these speeds are available in many towns and cities, there are plenty of other locations with a connection speed under 2 Mbps.
