ITV looking to spread the ITV Player around

June 29, 2010

The commercial broadcaster ITV is in talks to get the catch-up service on as many platforms as possible.

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, the app for the ITV Player will not be free although there is no mention of actually costings as of yet.

The plan is to get the ITV Player in the Apple, Blackberry and Google Android powered smartphone app stores by autumn this year.

The ITV Player is a thirty day catch up service, unlike some other services that only offer seven days catch up time.

Although the ITV Player app will have a cost to it initially, the service will then be paid for through advertising, therefore the actually content should be free to view.
