Boxee, the firm that uses its own media centre to provide internet users with free downloadable software which allows them to view TV and video on the internet, is preparing to launch its own branded set-top box.
The original plan was for the Boxee set top box to hit the market towards the end of the year, but it seems that the timetable has changed and now the launch of the device is going to take place sooner than later.
According to the firm’s chief product officer, Zach Klien, Boxee has been working with its partner in Taiwan, D Link, to produce the new set top box, which could be going on sale within a couple of months.
