The blizzard of sales StarCraft II managed to unleash last week has subsided, with Toy Story 3 managing to grab the top spot back from Activision’s sci-fi RTS this week.
The long awaited StarCraft sequel managed to shift an incredible 1.5 million units in its first 48 hours on sale (worldwide that is). But it slid to number 4 in this week’s UK all-format video game chart as compiled by Chart Track, with a 72% drop in sales.
With Toy Story 3 back at number one (which it was the previous week), another Activision title stormed back up to number two, our old friend Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The shooter is set to become the best-selling UK game of all time, possibly as soon as next week.
Dance on Broadway on the Wii is at number three, with Red Dead Redemption at number five. Just Dance is behind that at number six, with Ubisoft having done exceptionally well from their dance themed titles.
Only two new entries hit this week, and neither made an impact anywhere near the top ten. Art Academy on the DS came in at number twenty-eight, and a little behind that at thirty-two was Avanquest’s Hidden Mysteries: Titanic.

This difference though, is that starcraft will have years of re-playability where as toy story will be a complete once and never play again game. Sold by hype to the masses of under 12′s.
The full story is never in the numbers – over time starcraft will have 1. outsold toy story multiple times over and 2. Outplayed Toy story many thousands of times over.
Toy Story 3 takes the top?… Lol well just goes to show how many retards there are out there.
