“I think therefore I am”, Descartes famously said. And equally true in this modern age is the adage “iPhone, therefore I have more sex”.
Yes, it seems that iPhone users might have antenna problems, but not when it comes to the bedroom, where they’re always at it. So says a slightly dubious survey by dating site OkCupid.com.
The site surveyed almost 10,000 smartphone owners aged 30, examining iPhone, BlackBerry and Android users on the amount of sexual partners they’ve had.
Android owners came out lowest with six partners on average for both men and women. BlackBerry users saw more action between the sheets, with an average of eight for men, and nine for women.
The iPhone was top of the sex tree, however, with men who owned Apple’s smartphone averaging ten notches on their bedpost, and women twelve. So iPhone owning women have twice as much sex as Android addicts.
What does all this prove? Well, not a lot, really. The iPhone of course comes with that “rich and loaded” image, so perhaps that has something to do with it, in a sort of ‘rich-people-have-more-sex-shocker’ style.
The OkCupid.com survey was actually designed to discover which sort of photographs were the most effective for attracting a mate online, and it turns out that unsurprisingly, camera phones didn’t help a person look their best.
Oh, and never use a flash for your online dating site photo. OkCupid.com said that adds seven years. Although the site didn’t specify if that was to your sentence, after the police came round and arrested you for indecent exposure.
