Tippex hits the white spot with YouTube advert

An advert on YouTube has captured the imagination of the denizens of the Internet, notching up over two-thirds of a million views thus far.

The ad for Tippex, entitled “NSFW. A hunter shoots a bear!”, doesn’t appear to be anything special at first, showing a scene of a camping hunter brushing his teeth of a morning when a bear sneaks up behind him.

As his friend behind the camcorder spots the bear, the hunter grabs a shotgun, and then it’s up to the viewer to answer the question: Shoot, or don’t shoot the bear. Of course, the Tippex folks won’t actually let you shoot the bear.

But after the hunter breaks the fourth wall and Tippexes out the word shoot in the video title, the viewer then gets to type in what they’d like to see happen next in the blank text box. Type in a hunter “jokes with” a bear, for example, and you’ll get a scene of the bear playing a trick on the man, and laughing at him.

You can get them to dance, hug, and yes, if you dare to type something else a bit more crude in, that’ll happen too, albeit with a big censored sticker covering it. Try getting the bear to break wind, that’s quite an amusing one; there are a surprising amount of options included.

It’s hours of fun for the whole family, or at least five minutes, anyway. Whether anyone still uses Tippex, we don’t know, but this certainly won’t be doing the product’s profile any harm.
