Following Google’s US launch of VoIP on its Gmail service at the end of August, the company has now revealed plans to extend the service to the Middle East, according to Emirates 24/7.
In a statement issued to the site Google said that localised versions will be rolled out but it has not yet set a date to launch the VoIP services in the Middle East region.
The VoIP service is accessed via a “call phones” option in Gmail chat, providing free national and cheap international Internet calls.
