Amazon pulls HTC 7 Trophy listing

Darren Allan

Earlier this week, we reported that Amazon had listed the HTC 7 Trophy on pre-order for £430 sim-free, despite Vodafone’s UK exclusive on the Windows Phone 7 powered handset.

Well, now if you do a search for “Trophy” on the online shopping site, the leading result returned will no longer be HTC’s phone, because Amazon has pulled the listing. (What you’ll actually get now is the Halloween Sexiest Costume Trophy, which looks very gold and nifty but doesn’t come with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, not as far as we’re aware).

Is this the result of Vodafone complaining? Possibly, as when contacted HTC did confirm that the operator was the sole UK stockist, and it couldn’t say where Amazon had sourced its units from.

SlashGear spotted this development, but the site also points out that retailer eXpansys now has the HTC 7 Trophy up on its site for the same £430 sim-free price. How long will that listing last?

Vodafone will be offering the handset free from £25 per month on a two year contract. The Trophy comes with a 3.8 inch WVGA display, 8GB of memory, plus a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash.
