Sophos has released the Anti-Virus Home Edition for Mac, a free program to help Mac users combat malware. The company states that while there is far more malware aimed at Windows, Mac OS X is slowly growing its market share, and is showing up on more cyber-ne’er-do-wells radars. The program features automatic on-access detection against existing and new threats, and a dedicated Mac support forum.
Creative has pulled a couple of new tablets out of its hat today, the ZiiO 7 inch and 10 inch slates. They boast Creative’s own ZiiLabs ZMS-08 1GHz processor running Android 2.1, and come with a front facing camera, an HDMI port, and a choice of either 8 or 16GB of memory (which can be further expanded via a microSD slot). Pricing starts at £200 for the basic 7 inch ZiiO with 8GB, and goes up to £270 for the 10 inch model with 16GB of memory. The low pricing is due to a resistive touchscreen.
The ICO has said that it won’t be rushed into action against Google, with the latest revelation in the Street View wi-fi data collection case that actual passwords, URLs and emails were hoovered off unsecured networks up and down the UK. A spokesperson said: “Whilst we continue to work with our other international counterparts on this issue we will not be panicked into a knee jerk response to an alarmist agenda.”
