BBC iPlayer app now on BlackBerry

There’s some good news for forgetful BlackBerry owners who miss their favourite programmes on the BBC, because the Beeb’s catch-up service is now on the BlackBerry.

It already was, you say? Well yes, you could previously surf to the iPlayer website, but the BBC has actually launched a dedicated app to make the experience far more seamless, with a slick user-friendly interface.

You can nab the iPlayer from the BlackBerry App World, where it’s a free download. It’s compatible with the Storm 2, Bold 9700 and Torch 9800 phones running OS 5 or better, although there are a couple of comments on the App World page which state that it’s not working on the 9700 with OS 6.

Then again, other reviewing users are boasting about how well it runs on their 9700, so we’re not sure what the issue might be there.

The BBC iPlayer for BlackBerry can catch you up with anything that’s been shown on Auntie’s channels in the last week, so you need never miss another Nigella recipe for sweet and salty crunch nut bars again.
