FIFA ousts Black Ops from number one spot

Darren Allan

Which game was top of the UK all-format video game chart for the final week of 2010, according to Chart Track?

It was EA’s FIFA 11, in a surprise result which saw Call of Duty: Black Ops being knocked off the top.

While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 managed nine consecutive weeks at the top, despite more impressive week one sales Black Ops has only managed five weeks in a row at number one (it would have been eight, but Gran Turismo 5 unseated the shooter from the top just two weeks after Black Ops’ launch).

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit remains at number three, followed by fellow non-movers Just Dance 2 and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.

Kinect Sports is doing well at number six, and another Kinect game also makes a resurgence into the top ten, Dance Central at number ten.

Positions seven, eight and nine are held by Gran Turismo 5, The Sims 3 and Fallout: New Vegas respectively.

Interestingly, there are five Kinect games in the top forty, and these sold as much as the eight titles which charted in the motion control system’s launch week back in November.
