TweetDeck is a desktop application for managing social networking sites, and is the most popular Twitter application when it comes to micro-blogging updates, second only to the Twitter site itself as a source of tweets.
In less than two years it has become quite a UK-based success story, and one being more than eyed by a US company which has been acquiring a number of Twitter related firms lately.
In fact, UberMedia has now acquired TweetDeck, according to a report on TechCrunch, for around the $25 to $30 million mark.
The FT.com is also carrying the same story, with its sources saying the same thing – a $30 million (£19 million) deal.
Thus far, this hasn’t been confirmed by either firm, but we’d expect it will be shortly.
