Zumba Fitness has toppled shooter Crysis 2 from the number one spot in the UK all-format game chart (according to Chart Track).
Crysis 2 had held the number one spot for two weeks running, and Zumba Fitness came in behind it at number two last week, after its release on the Wii. And now 505 Games’ Latin dancing title has pushed past it this week to grab the top spot.
It’s 505 Games’ first ever all-format number one, and the first fitness title to hit the top since Wii Fit Plus came out in 2009.
In actual fact sales of Zumba were cut in half following the launch week, but Crysis 2 dropped further, by 57%. As Crysis 2 only had a slim lead over the dance title last week, it lost too much ground.
There was actually a heavy drop in sales throughout the chart, thought to be down to the nice weather we experienced last week, as people went out and stared at that strange yellowy-orangey thing in the sky rather than their HDTV screens.
Lego Star Wars III stayed at number three, with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 moving back up behind it at number four. Shift 2: Unleashed found itself at number five, giving EA three of the top five positions.
THQ’s shooter Homefront continues to sell pretty well at number six, followed by WWE All Stars, and then Pokemon Black. Pokemon White held at number nine – this is the first time its sibling title, Black, has sold better than it – and Dynasty Warriors 7 was a new entry at number ten.
