It’s-a him, Super Mario… and he’s coming to the Nintendo 3DS in 2011.
Shigeru Miyamoto, game designer and Mario creator, spilled some brief details on Super Mario 3DS in an interview with Edge.
Apparently the game will be a cross between Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario on N64. He also noted that the three dimensional effects of the handheld would be put to good use, with the 3D making judging distances and jumps more intuitive.
The bottom line is it’s going to be “completely original” and coming out this year, with a showing planned for E3.
A cross between two previous Mario outings, yet completely original? We’ll be looking forward to seeing exactly what revolutionary gaming markers Super Mario 3DS is going to throw down at E3 in June.
