Apple has announced that Steve Jobs will unveil the long rumoured iCloud service at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) next Monday.
Jobs, who is currently on medical leave, will deliver the keynote speech and introduce iCloud, along with the next version of iOS (number 5) and Lion, the eighth release of Mac OS X.
Nothing was mentioned about any of the features therein of any of the above, in typical Apple style.
Apple mentioned that the WWDC will boast over a hundred technical sessions hosted by Apple engineers, with the Cupertino techies happy to cast their all-knowing eyes over any code devs bring.
iCloud is expected to be a cloud-based storage service that will let users store and stream music, much like Amazon and Google’s existing offerings. It will also allow customers to store videos, photos and so forth.
Apparently Apple has already negotiated terms with the majority of the big music labels for the cloud-based service.
