LA Noire has held the top spot in the UK game chart (as compiled by Chart Track) despite the challenge from Codemasters’ Dirt 3 racing game.
Rockstar’s action-sleuth game’s sales dropped by 43%, but Dirt 3 couldn’t do enough to overtake, and ended up coming in at number two. It did, however, outsell the opening week of Dirt 2.
Exactly like LA Noire last week, Dirt 3 showed a heavy Xbox bias with two-thirds of buyers owning Microsoft’s console. The rally game was the only new entry this week.
Lego Pirates of the Caribbean found itself pushed down to number three, with Zumba Fitness still sweating away at number four. Bethesda’s Brink halved in sales numbers and dropped to number five.
Following that was Wii Sports Resort, up again due to price promotions on the Wii bundle, with FIFA 11 at number seven and then Black Ops, both long-term top ten members.
Crysis 2 found itself at number nine and Mario Kart Wii at number ten, again resurgent thanks to the Wii hardware bundle which includes the game.
