Nintendo has released a brand new trailer for its forthcoming Zelda game whilst in San Diego for this year’s ComicCon.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Wii still has no official release date, but is expected to be available to gamers before the end of the year.
The game will act as a prequel to the first Zelda game to make an impact on the console with its 3D world back in 1998, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (recently reprised on the 3DS).
Designer Eiji Aonuma revealed a few details about the game last month and confirmed that the skyward sword in question was effectively the same weapon as the Master Sword seen in Ocarina.
He also said that the game will “touch on” the origins of Ganondorf and why he showed up in the lives of the heroes of the game.
The trailer itself shows that the graphics are a little different to previous Zelda games, and share some similarities with the game Wind Waker released on the GameCube.
It also displayed some of the puzzles and boss fights that gamers can expect to be challenged by.
Fans of the series will also be given the treat of seeing a friendly face as the trailer reveals a Goron somehow makes his way into the story. Have a look for yourself here (the Goron appears at the minute and a half mark).
