Sky begins a big promotion for new subscribers today – and the good news for existing Sky+ subscribers is that they’re not being left out this time.

Previously, Sky promotions sought primarily to bring on board new subscribers only.

So if you were not a Sky customer, you could get a free Sky HD box paying only the extra £10 a month for HD channels. However, existing Sky+ customers would have to pay £60 in additional set-up costs.

Happily, now, in the new promotion Sky+ customers only need to pay £15 to upgrade, ostensibly to have the Sky HD box posted to them.

So long as you’re happy to plugin the box itself, that’s it.

Of course, there’s the extra £10 monthly Sky HD cost on top of the Sky+ subscription.

However, the fact that Sky+ subscribers can now upgrade to Sky HD at only £15 is definitely a plus this reporter has already taken advantage of.
