Virgin Media has announced the launch of a new set of bundled services called Collections.

Having just completed its roll out of super-fast 100Mbps service across the UK, Virgin is launching the packages which combine that fibre with its TiVo service in what the firm describes at a “market-changing” move.

The basic Essential Collection package comes with a 30Mbps fibre connection, the M+ TV pack, 6 HD channels and a TiVo box with 500GB of storage space. It also comes with Talk Weekends and is priced at £25 per month.

Those who can push up to £45 per month get the Premiere Collection, which ups the ante to the XL TV pack, 23 HD channels, and 60Mbps broadband, along with some extras such as Spotify.

Finally, the VIP Collection includes 36 HD channels, 100Mbps broadband (which will eventually be upgraded to 120Mbps), along with a 1TB TiVo box and extras such as Sky Sports & Movies collection. However, it’s a pretty pricey package at £90 per month.

The good news is that there’s an offer on for new customers, whereby they get the first six months at half price (although it’s necessary to sign up to an 18 month contract).

Andrew Barron, chief operating officer at Virgin Media, commented: “Virgin Media has been leading the evolution of digital entertainment in the UK, and with services such as TiVo and 100Mb, we’ve catalysed a massive growth in the consumption of digital entertainment.”

“This is the first time we’ve combined these leading products in this way and these ground-breaking Collections mark a new chapter for digital services in the UK.”
