The release date and price of the HTC Desire C has been confirmed by Clove.
The online retailer stated on its blog page that the Desire C, a budget Ice Cream Sandwich handset, is now available to pre-order, and the first stock should arrive a week today.
And the price for a scoop of budget Ice Cream? That’d be £190, and as Clove notes, despite this very reasonable price tag, the handset still delivers a solid feature set.
While the processor is only 600MHz, the phone has a 3.5in display, 4GB of memory, a 5 megapixel camera, and HTC has managed to fit NFC on board for contactless payments and other touch-based wizardry.
Furthermore, the phone boasts Beats Audio technology, to make your music sound more impressive, or that’s the idea. “Authentic sound, as the artist intended”, as the spiel goes.
HTC has also bundled 25GB worth of Dropbox storage for two years, a nice little extra.
This is all part of the company’s push to regain some of its lost market share, after its rise primarily sparked by the launch of the original Desire handset. Not doubt HTC is hoping the Desire C’s name may rekindle some of that success, alongside the higher end One range of smartphones the firm has just brought out.
