The Galaxy S III has been on sale for a while now, since the end of May in fact, and since then it has shifted a lot of units. A hell of a lot – it hit the 10 million mark last month, faster than even Samsung had anticipated.
Thus far, it has been available in two colours, white or pebble blue, but now we seem to have confirmation that a black version of the S III will be out soon enough.
This is according to Know Your Mobile, who spotted a listing for the black version of the device on retailer MobileFun.co.uk’s site. The 16GB black S III is priced up at £500 sim-free, and stock is listed as expected in four to six weeks.
That means the black S III could be out to coincide with the rumoured launch of the next iPhone, next month – which sounds about right in timing terms, if Samsung wanted to persuade a few more folks to purchase its latest flagship phone rather than Apple’s.
Currently, iPhone sales have slowed down ahead of the anticipated release of the iPhone 5.
There’s nothing different about this S III, though, just its colour. The smartphone still comes with a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 4 processor along with a large 4.8 inch 720p display, plus an 8 megapixel camera, and a 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera.
Not forgetting S Voice, Samsung’s answer to Apple’s Siri. Though doubtless Siri will see refinements with iOS 6 and the next-gen iPhone.
