If you’re not one of the five million people who immediately bought an iPhone, you may now be kicking yourself as availability has become quite limited.
While most networks do still have iPhone 5′s in stock on a monthly tariff, finding a standalone Sim Free iPhone 5 could be a problem.
If you’re looking to buy a Sim Free iPhone 5 from Apple directly via their online shop, be warned: you’re looking at a delivery time of 3-4 weeks.
However, if you’re still after an iPhone 5 there are still a few places with stock left.
iPhone 5: PAYG
If you’re looking to get a new iPhone 5 Sim Free for PAYG, there are plenty of places offering them – sometimes at ridiculous prices.
For example, at the time of writing, the 64GB iPhone 5, which retails at £699, is currently available on Amazon for £1023. I kid you not.
eBay is little better, but fear not – you *can* buy a Sim Free iPhone 5 without paying stupid prices.
At present you can buy the 64GB iPhone 5 and have next day delivery, if you buy before 8pm.
HOWEVER, you will also need to get a nano-sim to go with your new iPhone 5 – the caveat being that it will lock to the network you use.
Luckily, there are a few places already offering the nano-sim for iPhone 5.
1. You can pick up a nano-sim for £1 from any Three Mobile shop, though I can’t find these directly online as yet https://www.three.co.uk/Support/Free_SIM/Order
2. Orange offer pay monthly sims: http://shop.orange.co.uk/
3. O2 are giving away nano-sims for free: http://www.o2.co.uk
