It would seem that Google is preparing to unleash a 32GB version of its Nexus 7 tablet, according to the latest rumour.

This one was posted up by IT Pro Portal, who heard via a source with “close links” to Argos that the high street retailer is putting the 32GB Nexus in its Xmas gift guide which is published this week.

Apparently, the 32GB model will replace the existing 16GB one, and be offered for the same price point – £199 – which would make it quite a bargain. The base 8GB Nexus 7 is likely to remain at £159.

Whether or not this is true, we shall have to see – concrete details will emerge later this week, with the publication of the Argos guide, of course.

The Nexus 7 is a highly regarded budget Android tablet, and the timing of the better value for money device certainly makes sense – coming just ahead of the rumoured iPad Mini launch which should happen next week.
