FIFA 13 still top of the chart

Holds off the challenge from Skylanders Giants

FIFA 13

It’s another week, and another all-format games chart from Chart Track which shows that FIFA 13 is still the most popular title in the UK.

That makes four weeks at the top for FIFA 13, which we reckon could be the first game ever to stay in the top ten for an entire year – until the release of FIFA 14, in other words.

FIFA 12 came close to managing that feat, but just slipped out of the top ten a month or so before it made the twelve month mark.

Skylanders Giants from Activision Blizzard was a new entry at number two, the sequel to Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure, but it failed to dislodge FIFA even though EA’s football game’s sales dropped by a third.

Dishonored saw its sales cut in half, and it dropped a place to number three, followed by Just Dance 4.

And then at number five, there was another new entry, and the reprise of a classic shooter franchise with the Doom 3: BFG Edition (complete with new content and missions, along with polished up visuals – we wonder if they’ve made it a little less dark… not likely).

Pokemon Black Version 2 slid down the chart to number six, and its counterpart, the White Version 2, fell further to number nine.

Sandwiched between those two were Resident Evil 6 and Borderlands 2.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown slipped three places to number ten.

Another new entry was the Bond-themed 007 Legends game from Activision, but surprisingly this failed to make the top ten, coming just outside it at number twelve.
