In what is probably the least surprising UK all-format game chart development ever, the latest Call of Duty game has gone straight to number one.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II launched last Tuesday and became the biggest selling game of the year, pushing FIFA 13 aside. It’s the fourth biggest launch of all time, with 60 per cent of the sales on the Xbox format.
Halo 4, which was last week’s number one, slipped to number two, and was followed by FIFA 13 and then Assassin’s Creed III at number four.
Skylanders Giants actually climbed back up the top ten to number five, presumably due to price promotions, followed by Need for Speed Most Wanted, and then Just Dance 4.
Borderlands 2 was at number eight, followed by a new entry for a Sims expansion pack, The Sims 3: Seasons. Football Manager 2013 just managed to hold on to its spot in the top ten.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified, the handheld sibling of Black Ops II, managed to come in at number sixteen, becoming the second biggest Vita launch of the year.
