BT Vision has announced a deal with Universal Networks International, whereby the Universal Channel, Syfy and E! Entertainment channels will be brought on board.
Those three channels will fire up soon, and early next year, BT says that it will start to offer on-demand functionality with them as well.
Most folks will probably be familiar with the Syfy brand, which offers science fiction, of course, along with drama, movies and reality TV. Syfy is currently screening season three of Haven in the UK, for example.
Universal Channel offers “high quality” drama and crime programmes such as Law & Order, and E! is a celebrity and entertainment news affair.
BT Vision also notes that it will be adding further channels before too long.
Marc Watson, BT’s chief executive of TV, said: “Universal Channel, Syfy and E! make a fantastic contribution to our channels offering at launch. They offer the best quality drama, hit supernatural thrillers and popular entertainment shows that viewers love.”
“As we expand the number of channels available soon for BT Vision customers, we hope that there will be something there for everyone. We will cater for drama lovers, comedy addicts and sports fans in equal measure. We are not finished yet and we will be announcing some more much-loved channels to complete our roster.”
