So what game was number one as we came to the end of 2012? Far Cry 3, in fact, managed to muscle Black Ops II out of the way.
Far Cry 3 was at the top, followed by FIFA 13, and then Call of Duty: Black Ops II at number three, with the latter’s sales figures halving post-Xmas.
Hitman Absolution was at number four, followed by Need for Speed: Most Wanted which moved up a gear to number five.
Ubisoft had another title at number six, Just Dance 4, and also Assassin’s Creed III was at number eight, with Halo 4 nestled between those two Ubi games.
Lego: Lord of the Rings was at number nine, with the top ten being rounded out by Forza Horizon, which zoomed up from number twenty-one last week.
If this year is anything like last, we can expect FIFA to be holding the top spot for the next few weeks in the traditional post-Christmas games industry lull.
