Default A780 work from VM down a phone line??

I think I know the answer to this, but can someone pls confirm:

I'm not one of those lucky fellows who is in a VM cable area but can get the 20mb boradband and TV service down the phone line option. Can you still use this A780 N3 get around with VM down the phone line or is it only VM down the cable?

I'm guessing you can't, but thought would check anyhow.

I was under the impression you could use this box with any type of BB whatsoever IE: Sky, Virgin, O2, Orange, BT ect... That's what members have been saying here.

Just as long as it runs through a router/modem. Now it seems it's only available through Cable.. So that means Virgin only basically...!!!

Clear this up plz
