These questions has probably been asked a thousand times.
I am now thinking of buying a A780 as Eurovox has finally bitten the dust. I just want to know are these A780 really working where the EV has died and what about the DW 800 HD box from Kryptview are they still up and running or died just like the EV. Just basically crossed in 2 mind whether to buy the A780 or something better with HD for a few pounds more. And what is the expected life run of this Kryptview boxes. Thanks for looking Doddsie |

Hmmmm????, that does put a new spin on things Cheers Daveyeff. So what are we then to do now that Eurovox is no longer with us?????. Surely not Sucking up to Vermin or Sky.
Here I was thinkig that the A780 was the one that could not be topped guess it now can!!! |

there was a server found and shut down in ireland, but they didnt bother tracing the users, they just cut the connection. the fact that they can see who has been using it doesnt seem to bother them. they just want the servers out of action. judging by some of the posts on here, its more trouble than its worth to pursue the people using the boxes, its the big shots they,re after. so take a chance if you want, there are thousands who are using the krypview with no problems....up to now.

Thanks once again for your input Daveyeff.
I was thinking about going on to the CS scene before KV caught my eye but with a £350 starting price for a new dish & receiver not forgetting all the setting up trouble I thought I would look around for the lowest maintance and cheapest viewing system out there upon which I landed on the KV front, Hmmmmm???? decisions decisions. |

Hi Doddsie, read up on all starview section over the last week and all you will read is problems, me I would keep clear of them, A780 you will read problems, most of them problems get solved though and up and running again.

cheers andyjill!!!.
They (VM & Sky) really are getting the of us!!!. Just looking back on Daveyeff first post he mentions servers going down, if this was to happen would it be just a matter of a rescan on the A780 and everything working again????. I'm finally understanding that you have more of a chance getting caught out with a KV box but surely with thousands of uses it would take some sorting out!!!. With everything WE do there is a certain amount of risk & gamble I'm just trying to sort out the best gamble. If you actually disconnected the internet cable from the A780 whileyou where not using it, it half the risk?????. Or doyou NEED to be connected all the time?????. Questions Questions Questions. Head is like a box of frogs now!!!!, and does not know which way to jump. Hahahahahaha!!!! |

Im curious -
1. How many users do the Server Admins allow on one box before saying "this is too many, we need a new server". 2. When the CAT5 goes in, does the software/image on the box have a bunch of server IPs embedded into it to allow the box to connect to a server in the list? I mean, how does your box determine what server it is going to connect to - where are the server IPs stored? 3. If the server your connected to is somehow bumped/found/shutdown, is the box deemed useless or can a rescan pick up another available server? Cheers, |
