Half a million posts - Techwatch Support Forums: Digital & Satellite TV, FTA, Cable, Computers, Mobile Phones, Apple and General Tech Forums

Cool - we passed over 500,000 posts at the weekend.

On the one hand, Techwatch has been growing into a bigger and bigger forum, but on the other I think we need more focus on being a tech help community again - there has been far too much fighting of late, whether in the cable section or football threads.

Also, the satellite section has expanded a lot over the year while the cable section has obviously shrunk, so I'd like to see if we can build on our strengths across the technology areas we cover, especially satellite, as well as providing general support for cable without going near c/s.

I think it's fair to say it's been a tough year for a lot of people for a lot of reasons, but for better or for worse, TW is and can be a good home to many of us. It's my responsibility to make people feel welcome here but I feel I haven't been able to keep on top of that, so time for that to change.

Overall, the 500,000 post mark is a nice milestone to make - but for me at least, a reminder that this isn't simply a board, or forum - but a community - and I need to help more with building that up again.

In the meantime, virtual drinks on me.

Congrats to you Brian for keeping the Techwatch country running smoothly, although that may be in part there are no bankers & politicians involved in running the site.
