Sounds like more BS to me. I do not have any experience or knowledge of the working of the server but several points come to mind:

Any removal of boxes from servers would most likely be automatic. Even if manual, the server would not be down for longer than a couple of minutes for a reboot after uploading of a new config file.

The First Starview6 firmware is dated Feb 2010 and the first Carling May 2010, only the first non-LAN HD Combo is dated Nov 2009, so none of the Starview LAN boxes have been online for a Year yet.

i agree with lincsat,,,, lets see the proof of any starview boxes completing the 12 months then being ritually slain!

SO ANYONE WITH A STARVIEW THAT HAVE HAD IT 12 MONTHS LET US KNOW THE STORY!!
in fact ill start a nice new thread about it.

Like I said M8, I don't think any Starviews are near the 12 Months yet, unless they had been used in Ireland first then shipped to UK. IIRC, the Starview UK server started around April/May and the Ireland server around Jan/Feb, but my memory is far from reliable

you are right the uk server only started may 2010 so they wouldn't be knocking any boxes off the server yet

so may it is then..... this loss of the hd channels must be something totally different. but as thye are a bonus anyway who are we to complain?

once may comes we will see what happens with peoples boxes then but as mentioned by another member, if you do not like th eidea of buying a box and only getting 12 months use then go to virmin and pay them,, the difference will make you want another 12 month box!

recently i was paying sly 85 squids a month (inc net and fone) and didnt have as much as i have now to watch, now i have paid £189 and £22 ish a month and have all the channels and the net so hey see me, i aint moaning, and if after 1 2months my cable side goes off well thats fine ill either buy the eurostarviewmega hd box or stick with my cs server on sly.

to have the choice is great, the darkness we all suffered with the onslaught of n3 was orrible as was freeview!

regards dave
