Default Starview HD Combo Quality

Hi Guys

I Recently got a SV Combo HD and im a total newb. I've spent hours on hours doing research and its all pretty inconclusive.

Anyways managed to get it working on VM through the LAN.

I have firmware installed on the box Guinness+ Ver F5.11 LDR: Ver 00.21.

My issue is that the few available HD channels that are currently available (sky movies HD not yet up as far as I understand on SV servers) are really bad quality. They look SD. I have a excellent panasonic 1080p 50 inch so its definately not the TV and the SV is connected via HDMI and set to 1080i

Is there anything I can do to improve the HD quality.

Would a firmware upgrade make any difference. If so what firmware is the latest and greatest with nog bugs or issues baring in mind im only using it for cable

All your help is really appreciated guys.
Thanks in advance.
