Suggest setting up with the cable direct.
what happens if you do away with the splitter altogether and just use the main cable feed? Will virgin be able to tell?

Hello all,
Just a quick addition...

If adjusting the frequency upwards doesnt work, try adjusting the frequency down by 0.5mhz-1.0mhz. This is just like a fine tune for the channel.

Hi guys, I have a Eurovox Max V. My signal strength is really poor. I have 34TPs and around 200 chnls but i rekon at least 25% are useless and flicker n crackle like mad. (As well as bein annoyin, it sends my dog crazy! Must be the pitch of the breakups??) I have a splitter fitted by VM for my Broadband. Ive read loads of threads bout signal boosters and opposing views on whether they work or not. Also i dont have a Null Modem cable but will buy one if the concensus is that the firmware will solve my problem? Does any1, any1 at all have any straight talking advise they would like to give me as to how i can solve my problem? All replies greatly appreciated. Cheers.

have a look were the cable feed comes into the house (the boxes in + outside) for a device like the pic, its anattenuator and reduces the signal for people who only have broadband this could be your problem,if you find one remove it.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I checked the box outside and there was only a straight connector going into the house, i couldn't see what you described only spiders! I hate spiders! The line into my house goes straight into a splitter then the two wires feed off into seperate white boxes then into my eurvox and modem. Any ideas?

when you say "straight" connector do you just mean the cable or like the new pic as its the same thing

is there not also a box on the wall inside your house?

ps the max V has a built in signal booster have you tried turning this on/off

Just checked again, no im pretty sure its just a connector. threaded at both ends. Do you think there is any point pulling apart the white boxws inside the house to see whats going on there?
