the box should just clip off in the house
have you tried the built in booster?
a weak signal will obviuosly cause problems but so will a signal thats too strong
what signal levels are you getting?

The cable just comes straight through the wall and into a splitter. No box till after that and im pretty sure they were fitted by VM. Although i only got the box new 7 months ago ive read threads bout the built in signal booster and i dont seem to have the option. Is an off the shelf option worth a look? My siganl on all chanels is fluctuating between 0-20 is %!

i think the booster option is in later firmware,as youve had your box 7 months youve probably got july 07 firmware on,get a null moden cable and flash it with the Kuro 2 firmware and this should solve it.
make sure your pc has an rs232 connection or you'll also need a usb to serial converter cable

Hi, thanks. Sorry for the late reply. I ran my cable straight into my box and by-passed the splitter. This had near perfect results. Only problem is i lose my broadband. Not the solution i was looking for. Any ideas, does this help even slightly??

This has to be one of the worst days ever for the box.
Signal has been gone for hours now.
Longest ever.
Has anyone any suggestions as to how it might be retrieved.
Please!!!
I am referring to NThell signal in the Dublin area.
I assume that I am not alone in this.
Thanks folks!

good evening.
go to the channel thats breaking up, press the info button twice and note the frequency.(eg 522.000mhz).
go to menu, instalation, user instalation, enter pin.
you will now see a list of frequencies.
scroll down to the frequency that you noted before. (eg 522.000mhz).
press green button. ch edit.
press blue button. modify.
useing the numbers on the remote add 0.5 mhz to the frequency. (eg 522.000mhz becomes 522.500mhz.)
press ok.
it will say please wait to save data.
press exit.
if the picture is now stable, all is well.
if the picture is better but still glitches go back and add another 0.5mhz.
if the picture is worse go back and subtract 1mhz.
hope that helps.
sossybaby.

My addition is that when you add or subtract the 0.5 Mhz look at how quick the quality bar comes back. The quicker it comes back, the better the signal meaning no breakup, and also less time for the channel to come on when flicking up or down.

All in all making the box function better.

Enjoy

Flashman.
Thanks mate good tip, mine is ok at present.
