Ive got a 1.2m dish that im looking to get installed at some point next week.
Now I currently have this bracket 2 inch x 25cm Heavy Duty GALV Sat Mount 15.00 Just want to check if this bracket will be safe to use with this size dish or should I just go and get a set of T&K brackets and a pole instead? As I see most people recommend T&K brackets when talking about a sat installation. Thanks

That bracket looks no where near good enough for a 1.2M dish.
You will need a much stronger support. Can you please post pictures of your dish and where you're planning to fix the dish, as this could affect how much support your dish will need. Are you going to add a motor to the dish? How high does the dish need to be sited? Are you planning on going above the roof line? In the UK you require planning permission for anything over 1M, but you can get away with it providing no one reports it. |

Didnt think it would be strong enough at all. Just thought I would ask though as I have seen a few places advertising this bracket as being enough for a 1.2m.
I am going to get myself a set of t & k brackets. Yes I am going to be adding a motor to the dish. And the plan is to have it fitted above the roof line. For a 1.2 motor dish that is going above the roof line, what diameter pole is needed for maximum strength and stability? Cheers

You'll need to post some pictures, and let the installers look at them, as anything above the roofline is dangerous, especially with a 1.2M dish,
Have you already worked out where it will need to be sited? |

Best to put a 1.2m in that location on the largest diameter pole that the mount will allow,
3 inch maybe, also double up on the T&Ks and have them spread out as much as you can. At the end of the day, a dish that size, in an exposed position is never going to be bulletproof.

That sort of sized dish above the roofline I would be using a KTK configuration on the brackets and 3" mast. I'd also be using resin anchors to secure the brackets. Is there no other option for the dish location ?

I have adjusted a 1.2m dish on a KTK on a 2inch 10ft scaffold above a roofline. Was a bit iffy to say the least.
![]() Edit, the KTK seemd OK, it was the pole that was iffy.

If I could I would prefer not to have the dish mounted above the roofline due to the size of it. But I have a conservatory on the back of the house which makes it a real pain to be placed on the back wall.
Rick, when I send you some pics tomorrow I will also take some of the back of the house and let you decide what is best. Cheers for the help guys.
