On monday im having Sky installed..
Im having a Sky Plus HD Box Downstairs & a Standard Sky Box Upstairs in the Bedroom (Multi Room) They will be installing a Quad LNB as they will be running 2 feeds downstairs to the SKY Plus HD Box BUT i will be purchasing a 500GB Sky Plus HD Box from Here in a few weeeks or months time.. Im Not getting one off Sky as they are Charging the same price for a 160Gb Version.. ![]() My question is whats the BEST way i can get the Sky Installer to put me 2 feeds Instead of the Single Feed they should be installing in the Bedroom??.. Shall i give them some excuse that we might swap the Boxes around a later date so could they install 2 feeds to each of the Rooms OR should i just tell them the truth & tell them i will be getting a Sky Plus HD Box in the future so i would like them to install the 2 feeds in so im ready to swap boxes when ive got the Sky Plus HD Box (Basically so its just Just Plug & Play)??.. I dont mind paying the installer a bit of cash in hand if he wont do it through Sky as im NEW to the Satellite world so it would save me a job of wiring in a extra feed at a later date.. ![]() Any Help Please..

Please be a little more patient even Techwatch members need to sleep, especially if they work for Sky

It will not hurt to ask the installer when he is on your doorstep. Worst he will say is no, but is unlikely to refuse if you offer him a few quid.

Does the Dreambox work when its connected to a Sly Dish??.. yes
Is it just a case of unplugging your Sly box & Plugging a Dreambox in its place?? DM box or any box capable of C/S with a sat tuner. No its not a case of just plug and play... once you buy the box you will need to flash it with the correct image. And then you have to obtain a server... you then need to ftp that cline into your Dm box to the correct folder, depending on which cam the person at the other end is offering... CCCAM is the easiest one to use. Is that what you mean Swap the boxes over?.. Yes you swap them over but you need to take the above into consideration. It will work on a Sly dish (28.2E) |
