Old NTL Pace Box

Hi i have an old NTL box which was chipped a while ago, it was used for about a montha and then in blew (scorch mark on it). I wanted to fit it to my daughters room just for normal usage but found it wouldnt boot past teh "updating services screen" so i then got someone to re-do the card, however the same problem occurs the message appears "updating services screen" and the "tune" on the front of the box. I am in Cardiff area any ideas what could be the issue and how to fix it?

PS i have two V+ boxes on the network as well not sure if this will affect it.

prob a old c&w box and used in a ntl, is it on 3.6? needs to go bk to c&w area to update to 3.7

hi thanks for the reply, sorry i am not very good at this stuff - what is 3.6 how do i check ??? the model number is di4001nc, when i hold down the ok +arrow up+arrow down it starts to boot and it gets passed the "tune" on front of box but channel count only goes up to AP:52 if that means anything.......any advice would be appreciated .

How could i find a C&W area? (how to check)
How would it update? (eg is it automatice update to 3.7 upon booting)

PS sorry i just realised i am posting in wrong place, the thread you mention is a little confusing (sorry i am not upto speed to be honest), i dont even care about the free channels i just wanted the box for normal channels i subsribe to for my daughters room without haveing to pay the "third box charges" from Virgin
