Hi. I was told I would need a digital line to get the channels. Virginmedia have only analogue signal at present in Northern Ireland. Some people say it will work without but I've no evidence of that. Cheers.

hope someone can help before i smash my eurovox 2007 to pieces, im in dublin 6887 is my symbol rate. I also have a eurovox max v 2008 which works perfect in my house it has the sept software and firmware and no problems at all.it has 130 stations on it.
however I have also the red box 2007 with feb 2007 software and firmware.i only get 42 channells and should be getting about 130. is this because i have the feb software and firmware????can somebody provide me with a website link to update my software and firmware as i have tried looking with no success. does anybody know a solution to my problem as i am only guessing that the software has to be updated for all my channells to be tuned in, If so i would appreciate advice on what to do Thanks Aaroncelt |

You could update the Red box but there is no real need to do this to get all your channels on it in Dublin. There are a number of ways as you have another box, but this will be the easiest way for you.
Go to menu, config, clear data, clear channel data and do a factory reset. This will bring you back to the installation screen. Now do a normal powerscan using symbol rate 6887 and scan from 290.000 to 403.000. After this is completed do an autoscan to bring all your channels in. Put it on Sly sports 1 to update, that should be it. Failing that I will give you an updated CDF for N** Dublin with all channels and favs sorted. |

eddie if you are an ntl customer your symbol rate should be 6.887, if you are a chorus customer your symbol rate should be 6.875.
i was only getting the same amount of channells as you but i found out the problem. my symbol rate is 6.887 and all it got me was 40 channells, i have the 2007 red box with feb software and firmware. my box was only scanning ch 1 - 5 correctly when it should have been getting ch 1 - 13. from ch 6 - 13 was either + or - 1Mhz out this was the problem all along explaining why only half the channells worked. Heres what to do,press menu,go to user install, then go to ch edit by pressing green, then press blue to modify, change frequencys where necessary, ch1= 291.000Mhz, ch2= 299mhz, ch3= 307Mhz, ch4= 315Mhz, ch5= 323mhz, from 1 -5 should be ok from 6 - 11 i added 1mhz ch6= 339mhz+1Mhz = 340.000Mhz, ch7 = 347mhz + 1mhz= 348.000mhz, ch8 =356mhz, ch9=364mhz. ch10 = 372mhz, ch 11 = 380mhz. the last 2 channells 12 + 13 subtract 1mhz and you get ch12 =394mhz and finally ch13 =402mhz this should solve your problem, good luck. aaroncelt |
